Find out what production would take
The BuiltForProd Assessment measures what you run today against the eight properties of the BuiltForProd Standard. A fixed fee, a written gap list, and a straight answer on fit. Start with the ten questions below: they are free and they take two minutes.
Ten questions about your own production
Answer honestly. Check every question you can answer yes to, without a caveat and without a heroic effort. Nothing here is sent anywhere: the count is worked out in your browser, nothing is stored, and no analytics event is sent.
What the paid Assessment adds
The self-check is your own opinion of your estate. The Assessment is ours, in writing, after engineers have read the accounts, the pipelines and the runbooks.
- A written review of your current estate against each of the eight properties of the Standard.
- A prioritized gap list: what is carrying risk now, what can wait, and what is already fine.
- The questions an auditor or an enterprise security review would ask you next.
- A recommendation, including the recommendation not to buy from us if that is the honest one.
It is a fixed fee, quoted before it starts and scaled to the size of the estate, and it is credited in full toward a Baseline purchase. If the answer is that you should fix three things yourself and call us next year, that is what the report will say.

When an Assessment is the right first step
Due diligence flagged infrastructure
An investor or an acquirer put infrastructure on the risk list. The Assessment turns that into a specific, ordered list of work with an owner for each item.
An audit date exists
SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS 4.0, NIST CSF, CMMC 2.0 or CIS. We map what controls and evidence you have and what is missing. Certification stays your auditor's decision.
Leadership wants a second opinion
Before a platform budget is approved, somebody independent should say whether the plan is the right one. Sometimes that means telling you to keep what you have.
One person knows how it works
If only one person knows how it works, it isn't production-ready. The Assessment writes down what is in their head, and what it would take for a second engineer to run it.
Assessment questions
What is the BuiltForProd Assessment?
The BuiltForProd Assessment is a fixed-fee engagement that measures what you run today against the eight properties of the BuiltForProd Standard: secure, reliable, observable, scalable, automated, recoverable, compliant and operable. You get a written review, a prioritized gap list and a recommendation.
What does it cost?
It is a fixed fee, scaled to the size of the estate, and quoted before it starts. It is credited in full toward a Baseline purchase, so an Assessment that leads to a deployment costs you nothing in the end.
How is it different from the ten-question self-check on this page?
The self-check is free, takes two minutes and runs entirely in your browser. The Assessment is engineers reading your accounts, your pipelines and your runbooks, and writing down what they find. The self-check tells you whether the conversation is worth having.
Do our answers to the self-check go anywhere?
No. The ten questions are counted in your browser. Nothing is submitted, nothing is stored, and no analytics event is sent. Close the tab and the answers are gone.
What if the Assessment says we do not need you?
Then it says so, and you keep the gap list. Disqualifying quickly is part of how we work: if BuiltForProd is not the right fit, we will tell you.

Tell us what you are running and what is coming: a funding round, an audit, a first enterprise customer, a migration. We will tell you what we would build, what it costs, and whether we are the right fit.
